Our Mission and Statutory Duties
With over 100 years of service to the citizens of Texas, the Department of Banking mission is to ensure that Texas has a safe, sound and competitive financial services system. Established in 1905, the Department’s statutory duties have evolved over the years. Today, the Department is responsible for the chartering or licensing and supervising the following:
