CVE Renewal Notice

Effective March 1, 2008, Check Verification Entities (CVEs) were eligible to receive information from the Department through its secure web portal.  In order to access the portal CVEs were required to register with the Department pursuant to Section 11.309 of the Texas Finance Code and Chapter 35 of Title 7, Texas Administrative Code.

CVEs are required to annually renew their registration pursuant to §35.16 of Title 7 of the Texas Administrative Code.  To renew a registration, a CVE must file a completed renewal registration form and registration fee of $100.00 on or before February 1 of the current year.  Responses to all questions must be provided.  Indicate if the answer is “None” or “Not Applicable.”  Failure to submit all of the required information may result in the return of the application.

A non-refundable annual registration fee of $100.00 is required at the time of submission of the renewal registration form. Checks should be made payable to the Texas Department of Banking.  Failure to submit the required fee will result in the return of the application.  Additionally, the application will be returned if it is not signed.

Information submitted in connection with the renewal application may be subject to disclosure under the Open Records Act.  Confidential information should be clearly marked when submitted.  Submit the application and the fee to the following address:
